Jaren Nickleson

Jaren Nickleson is in his first season as an assistant coach of the wide receivers for the University of Sioux Falls Football Program.

With experience coaching multiple positions (running backs and wide receivers), Nickleson brings a unique skill set to the Cougars program. He had served as a graduate assistant coach for running backs at Midwestern State, which finished 7-3 in 2021. Prior to that position, Nickleson mentored wide receivers at Harding (Ark.), a team that reach the NCAA DII playoffs both years he was there. 

As a collegiate wide receiver at the University of Texas (2012), Nickleson helped the Longhorns capture wins in the Holiday Bowl in 2011 and the Valero Alamo Bowl in 2012. 

Nickleson enjoyed a stellar prep career at King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He also was an outstanding student, who received the Wendy's High School Heisman. Nickleson was recognized among the nation's top student-athletes in relation to excellence in academics, athletics and leadership. A first-team all-district selection at King High, he had 500 receiving yards and six TDs as a standout on the field. Nickelson was also a National Achievement Scholar and Flint Hill Scholar, who lettered in baseball and track. Â
