Marcus Hall-Oliver is in his second season as the defensive line coach for the University of Sioux Falls Football Team. Hall Oliver, a two-time All-NSIC performer with Minnesota State in 2011-12, has been promoted to Run Game Coordinator in addition to defensive line coach duties.

Hall-Oliver was a member of the coaching staff  for a 2017 USF team that finished 9-3 with a fourth straight postseason appearance. The Cougars finished third (9-2) in the NSIC overall, made a third straight DII playoff appearance and attained a final ranking of No. 20 in the AFCA Poll. The Cougars have been ranked in 48 consecutive national polls (AFCA, D2Football.com).

The Cougars recorded a 24th consecutive winning season, which ranks fifth across all levels. In the playoffs, the Cougars dropped a heart-breaking 24-20 road DII playoff loss at No. 5 ranked Midwestern State. All three losses (Midwestern State, Minnesota State and Winona State) were to teams ranked in the AFCA final Top 20.

Hall-Oliver part of defensive staff that coached one of the nation's best defenses in 2017, ranking in second total defense (244.3 yards per game), second in scoring defense (12.5 ppg), third in rushing yards per game (67.8 yards per game), seventh in first downs defense (158) and ninth in sacks (3.33 per game, 40 total). USF led the NSIC in total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense, sacks, and second in first downs allowed.   Three members of his defensive line were named All-NSIC with defensive ends Logan Dykstra and Derek Landis second team selections and defensive tackle Brian Mayberry, honorable mention.

Previously he served as a graduate assistant for the Eastern Michigan football team, which played in the Bahamas Bowl in a 7-6 season in 2016.

He joined the EMU staff after getting his coaching career started with Minnesota State in 2013. He was a student assistant coach in 2013 where he worked with the linebackers before becoming graduate assistant coach of the cornerbacks. 

Hall-Oliver, who earned a Bachelor's degree in sports management in 2014 at Minnesota State, started in all of MSU's 25 games. During his junior season in 2011, he was the Mavericks' leading tackler with 83 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and one sack. For his efforts, he garnered First Team All-NSIC honors.

As a senior, Hall-Oliver started all 13 games for the Mavericks. He finished second on the team in tackles with 66, including 5.5 tackles for loss. He also recorded two interceptions and a forced fumble, while earning his second consecutive NSIC First Team All-NSIC South Division honor. He was also a Daktronics Super Region 3 Second Team honoree. He started his collegiate career (2009-10) by earning 11 starts at the University of Nebraska at Omaha before the program was shutdown.
