Career
Hoffman has steadily contributed to the USF defense over his career. In 2024, his redshirt sophomore season, he earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors, played in 11 games, and recorded 58 total tackles (36 solo, 22 assisted) along with two pass deflections. In 2023, as a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 11 games, recording 57 total tackles (41 solo, 16 assisted) and three pass deflections.

High School
Hoffman competed in football, powerlifting, and track & field at Washington High School. He lined up at defensive back and safety. In 2022, he was named team captain and earned All-Academic honors. His senior year stats include 38 total tackles, 12 pass breakups, and two interceptions. As a junior in 2020, he recorded seven total tackles (one for loss) and four pass breakups.

Garret is the son of Martin and Summer Hoffman. He has one sibling, Tommy.
