CAREER: Named to the Academic All-NSIC Team in 2017 and 2018...has played in 12games for USF's playoff teams in 2016 (12-1, 11-0 NSIC) and 2017 (9-3) and 7-4 team in 2018 when the Cougars won 28 games and captured an NSIC title.

2018 - Named to the Academic All-NSIC Team... also earned selection to the All-NSIC Academic Team of Excellence (GPA of 3.6 or better)...member of defense that ranked 21st in DII and third in the NSIC in scoring defense (19.0 ppg), 32nd in DII and sixth in the NSIC in rushing defense (120.2 ypg), 54th in DII and fourth in the NSIC in total defense (339.8 ypg)...had two tackles and played in nine games.

2017 - Hard-hitting linebacker who played in 12 games for the 9-3 USF Football Team that reached the postseason for a fourth straight year and third straight playoff appearance...key member of defense as USF fielded one of the nation's best defenses in 2017, ranking second in DII in total defense (244.3 yards per game), second in scoring defense (12.5 ppg), third nationally  in rushing yards per game (67.8 yards per game), seventh in first downs defense (158) and ninth in sacks (3.33 per game, 40 total)... named to the Academic All-NSIC squad...saw action in 21-14 "Key to the City" victory against Augustana...

2016 - Played in two games...saw action vs. Upper Iowa (11/5) and Wayne State (11/25)... contributor on defense that ranked second in the NSIC and 19th nationally in scoring defense (18.6 ppg), second in the league and 39th nationally in rushing defense (111.8 ypg), 12th nationally and second in the NSIC in interceptions and second in total defense (348.1 ypg), 16th nationally and fourth in the NSIC in team sacks (3.23 per game), while ranking 25th in DII in turnovers gained (27)..

2015 - Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL - Had a standout career at Lincoln East High School...leader of team with two-year record of 15-5...played for head coach John Gingery...was a standout linebacker for Lincoln East’s 7-3 team  which won the city championship...accumulated 102 tackles, including 82 solo stops, 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles for the Spartans...in his career, compiled 135 tackles with 101 solo stops...rushed for two TDs on offense. Dean...was a two-time Heartland Conference Academic All-Conference selection and also earned All-City hons...an honorable mention all-state selection at linebacker by the Lincoln Journal Star, Omaha World Herald and the Associated Press...named the team’s MVP and was selected Homecoming King in 2014...was a staff writer for the school newspaper (Oracle) and on the Honor Roll for eight semesters.
