High School
At Jefferson High School, Payne competed in multiple sports: football, basketball, and baseball. He played as an offensive lineman for the Cavaliers and recorded one touchdown in his career. His efforts were recognized with All-State and All-Conference honors. In the classroom, Payne was also acknowledged, earning a spot on the All-Academic team.

He is the son of Tony and Jackie Payne and has three siblings, Dexter, Jaden, and Rylan
