Biography

CAREER: Eight-time All-American...named one of 42 candidates for the Harlon Hill Award as the DII's top player as a junior... twice selected All-NSIC, including first team as a junior in helping USF win league title and second team as a senior..named first team All-American on the Don Hansen and the D2 Conference Commissioners Team...selected second team on the AFCA, HERO Sports and D2Football.com All-American squads...selected to the College Football America Yearbook, Lindy's Magazine and D2Football.com preseason All-American teams in 2017...finished with 18, 100-yard rushing games in his career, which was tied for third most in USF school history)...set school records in yards per carry, average yards per game and total yards in a season in 2016...ranks fourth all-time at USF with 3,720 yards with 586 carries (7th. all-time at USF) and with 41 rushing TDs for 7th, all-time at USF in 42 games...with 44 total TDs ranked eighth all-time at USF...was sixth all-time in NSIC rushing (league games only) with 3,388 yards on 532 carries and 37 TDs in 40 league games...his 6.36 yards per carry is sixth all-time and his 84.7 yards per game ranks 14th in conference history...had six carries of at least 70 yards, including career-best 76...caught 44 passes for 327 yards and three TDs...has recorded 4,096 all purpose yards, including 1,900 in 2016 and 935 yards in 2017...had 10 games of 150 rushing yards or more in his career including four in 2017. 

2017: Named to three preseason All-American teams, including College Football America 2017 Yearbook, Lindy's Magazine and D2Football.com...selected NSIC South Division Offensive Player of the Year... named Academic All-District for the first time with 3.31 grade point average...was named to the All-NSIC for the second time, earning second team honors after playing just five games...was off to a fast start to 2017 with 873 yards (2nd, nationally) on 146 carries and eight TDs in five games...played in USF's 24-20 loss to No. 5 Midwestern State...rushed 11 times for 64 yards, including 20-yard run to give USF a 7-0 in first quarter....before he sat out the final five games of the regular season due to an injury, led the league with 174.6 yards per game...opened season with 37 carries for 114 yards and a TD in the 26-7 win over nationally-ranked Minnesota-Duluth...had 24 carries for 217 yards, including an 87-yard TD run, and two TDs in the win over Northern State...registered 24 carries for 150 yards and two TDs in the 38-7 victory over U-Mary...had 24 carries for 180 yards and a TD in the 34-0 win over Minnesota Crookston and 37 carries for 212 yards and a pair of TDs in the 24-10 victory over Southwest Minnesota State... With 37 carries for 212 yards and two TDs in the 24-10 win over SMSU, Mickey had his third 200-yard rushing game of his career and was the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career.

2016 (JUNIOR): Named All-NSIC First Team...selected to five All-American teams (see above)...one of 42 for the Harlon Hill Award as DII top player...named USF Team Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year...ranked in the top-six nationally in six different statistical categories in 2016, including finishing first in NCAA DII in rushing yards per carry at 8.6...was fifth nationally in rushing yards per game at 135.7 per game while sitting second in DII and first in the NSIC in rushing yards with a school record 1,764...broke David Ruter's USF rushing record of 1,726 set in 1996...was fifth in total TDs (22), and sixth in points scored (132) and rushing TDs (19)...In the first round of the playoffs rushed for 164 yards on 22 carries with three TDs...nine times rushed for at least 100 yards in a game...six times in 2016 he had 150 yards or more yards in a game...had 13 carries for 178 yards and a TD in the win over SCSU...produced 15 carries for 185 yards against MSUM...totaled 77 yards vs. Minot State on just nine carries and a career best 207 yards on 14 carries with a career-best 75-yard TD run against nationally ranked Bemidji State on Sept. 24...had 20 carries for 140 yards and two TDs vs. Augustana...earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors with 15 carries for 156 yards and a career-high four total TDs against SMSU...against WSU, had 14 carries for 91 yards and two TDs...added 165 yards on the ground against Minnesota State and 17 carries for 92 yards and two TDs against  Upper Iowa (11-6-16)... regular season finale, had 17 carries for 132 yards and two TDs...

2015 (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE): appeared in 11 games… recorded 131 rushes for 627 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per carry… totaled nine TDs… had 17 receptions for 92 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per catch… had a season high of five reception vs. Minnesota Duluth on Sep. 19… had a season high 24 yard reception vs. Minnesota Crookston on Sep. 12… had a best 21 carries for 124 yards including a 70 yard run and two TDs vs. Minnesota Duluth on Sep. 19… also had a best 21 carries vs. Northern State on Sep. 26 for 110 yards including one TD… rushed for a career best 149 yards vs. Minnesota Crookston on 20 carries including one touchdown… recorded two touchdown in two games vs. Mary on Sep. 5 and vs. Minnesota Duluth on Sep. 19… averaged 57.0 rushing yards per game… recorded seven games of 10 or more rushes… recorded three games of 20 or more rushes… rushed for 50 or more yards four times including three games of 100 or more yards… returned one kick for 49 yards

2014 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in 11 games…finished the season with 95 carries for 403 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per rush…recorded four TDs… had nine receptions for 101 yards, averaging 11.2 yards per catch…had one reception for a season best 26 yards against St. Cloud State (9/19/14)…recorded 12 carries for career-high 113 yards  and a four-yard TD run in 73-21 against MSU Moorhead (9/27/14)…also against MSUM had a season-best 72-yard run while also catching two catches for 20 yards...also had 14 carries for 60 yards and a one-yard TD run vs. St. Cloud State...also had a season-best 26-yard reception vs. SCSU...had 18 carries for 49 yards and an 11-yard reception in win over Winona State...recorded a season-high 21 carries for 75 yards and a four-yard TD in in the win over Upper Iowa...recorded three carries for 30 yards, including a 21-yard burst in Mineral Water Bowl (42-10 win over Central Oklahoma on Dec. 5)...in Mineral Water Bowl had two receptions for 22 yards...provided 504 all purpose yards, averaging 45.8 per game.

2013 (FRESHMAN): Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Holden...played four seasons of football for the Eagles...set Missouri single-season rushing record with 3,382 yards (242 ypg) and 45 TD as a senior...named to 2012 Max Preps Small Schools All-American Team...averaged 10.2 yards per carry in 2012...tabbed Missouri Football Coaches Association first team all-state and 2012 C2 Offensive Player of the Year...member of Missouri's coveted All-Simone team...Frank Fontana award winner...three-time all-state, all-conference, all-district and KMZU Dream Team selection...KMZU Player of the Year...7,470 career-rushing yards and 93 career touchdowns...four-time academic all-conference...recorded 102 all purpose yards in helping the Missouri team to a 36-8 win over Kansas in the 22nd annual Country Mart All-Star Football Game held in June 2013...also a four-year wrestler for Holden...took the podium in 2013 as the undefeated 170-pound state champion...finished runner-up at 2012 state wrestling tournament...two-time all-state and all-district wrestler...led the Eagles to back-to-back MRVC wrestling titles.
