Biography

2018: In bid to win starting quarterback job for Cougars...had strong spring game, completing 7-of-11 passes for 124 yards and caught a five-yard TD pass as the offense recorded a 49-25 decision...was the third string quarterback for USF, which finished No. 19 in DII and top-ranked in the NSIC in total offense at 466.5 yards per game...made one appearance against Minot State on 9-29-18.

2017:  Completed 9-of-13 passes for 73 yards to lead the White Team offense to 9-6 win in 2017 Spring Game...threw game-winning 16-yard TD pass to AJ Garrow in overtime...played in one game during the regular season, a 34-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on Sept. 23...did not complete a pass or rush the ball.

2016: Did not play.

2015: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Standout quarterback at Vista Peak High School... three-time all-league selection in the Colorado 7. In 2013...named honorable mention all-state...was dual threat in high school with career totals of 286 carries for 1,333 yards and 17 TDs on the ground; 464 yards receiving and four TDs; and completed 268-of-501 passes for 4,021 yards with 31 TDs passing....also starred on the basketball court, earning first team all-league honors in both 2013 and 2014...named a first team all-league performer in the high jump for his track team...was Involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Black Student Alliance.

PERSONAL: Son of Oscar and Deborah Butler...the brother of former three-time All-NSIC USF safety Josh Butler...sports management major.
