Marty graduated from Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he competed in football and track and field for the Patriots. He was nominated as a team captain and contributed to two state championships and one state runner-up finish during his high school career.

Marty is the son of Jill and Dusty Marty and has two sisters, Raina (21) and Tenley (15).
