Biography

CAREER -- Has accumulated 65 catches for 927 yards and four TDs....has 23 games played with 21 starts...15 times has had at least two catches in a game...has recorded at least 80 yards in a game four times...owns two 100-yard receiving games with 110 yards (five receptions, TD) vs. Minnesota State in 2017...had his career-high with eight catches (94 yards) against Upper Iowa in 2018...named Academic All-NSIC in 2018 and 2019...received medical redshirt after playing just one game due to injury to 2019...received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from USF in May 2020...will be enrolled in Master of Business Administration program.

2019 -- In less than a half against Concordia St. Paul, had four catches for 70 yards...injury ended his season after the first game.

2018 - Played in 10 games with eight starts for the 7-4 Cougars...part of of NSIC's most productive offense (466.5 total yards per game) and No. 19 offense in NCAA DII...also played a role for USF, which led the NSIC and was fifth-ranked in NCAA DII in rushing at 274.2 yards per game..named to the NSIC All-Academic Team...had 27 receptions for 361 yards and a TD...had a career-best eight catches for season-best 94 yards in a win over Upper Iowa on 10-27-18...registered five catches for 81 yards and a TD in a home win over Wayne State on 11-10-18...recorded four catches for 69 yards, including a career-best 46 yard reception, against Concordia St. Paul on 8-30-19...recorded four catches for 47 yards at Bemidji State on 10-6-18...had receptions in seven of 10 games...had four or more receptions for times...totaled at least 30 yards in receiving five times.

2017: Played key role on offense as USF finished 9-3 with a No. 20 ranking in the final AFCA poll...helped lead USF to a third straight NCAA DII playoff appearance and fourth straight postseason berth...member of the fifth-ranked offense in the NSIC (381.1 ypg)...collected 499 total yards, including 34 catches for 496 yards with three TDs...caught at least one pass in all 12 games...had two catches or more in 8-of-12 games...had four or more catches five times and five catches or more three times...had two 100-yard receiving games, including a career best 110 yards on five catches with a TD vs. No. 1 Minnesota State on Nov. 11 and 100 yards with his career-best six receptions at Upper Iowa on Nov. 4...opened collegiate career with one catch for 15 yards as USF defeated No. 8 Minnesota Duluth on Aug. 31 in Duluth, Minn...registered four catches for 50 yards, including a 35-yard TD catch in victory at home over Northern State on Sept. 9...had two catches for 25 yards, including a long of 24 yards in road win at U-Mary on Sept. 16...registered four catches for 36 yards in 34-0 decision at home over Minnesota Crookston on Sept. 23....had one catch for 22 yards in 24-10 win over Southwest Minnesota State on Sept. 30...had five catches for 69 yards, including a long of 16 yards as Cougars dropped home decision to No. 22 Winona State on Oct. 7...had two catches for 19 yards as USF defeated Wayne State on the road on Thursday, Oct. 12...had one catch for 10 yards in win at Concordia St. Paul on Oct. 21....also had one catch for 17 yards as the Cougars took a 21-14 "Key to the City" over rival Augustana on Oct. 28 at Bob Young Field...had a career-high six receptions for 100 yards (first career 100 yard receiving game) with a 24-yard TD against Upper Iowa...had a career-long 37 yard reception against Upper Iowa...recorded five catches for a career-best 110-yard with a 25-yard TD reception against No. 1 Minnesota State (27-23 setback) on Nov. 11 at Bob Young Field...also had a 31-yard reception against the Mavericks...finished season with two catches for 23 yards, including long of 13 yards, in a heart-breaking 24-20 loss to No. 5 Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas on Nov. 18.

2016: Redshirted.

High School: Two-way starter for S.F. Washington, which won 11AAA state championship (27-24 over SF O’Gorman) in 2015 as part of an 11-1 season…played for head coach Chad Stadem… one of four Warriors (Michael Enalls, Jack Schelhaas, Joey Wehrkamp) to sign at USF as senior had 36 receptions for 589 yards and 12 TDs…had seven catches for 108 yards in 11AAA title game win over O’Gorman…played linebacker, recording 45 tackles, 10 TFLs, interception…named to Argus Leader Elite 45 Team, first team all-state, All-Metro Conference and All-City…also plays Basketball and runs Track…

Personal: Named to A Honor Roll, participates in FCA, school newspaper, Peer Tutoring and was homecoming royalty candidate at WHS… son of Jeff and Jolene Smith…has a brother Jacob...received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from USF in May 2020...will be enrolled in Master of Business Administration program.
