Travis Walz enters his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the University of Sioux Falls softball program in 2026-27. Walz brings valuable experience and support to the Cougar staff, assisting in player development, practice planning, and day-to-day program operations.

Walz completed his first season with USF Softball in 2025-26, helping guide the Cougars to a 28-28 overall record. He provided valuable support to an offense that produced 358 hits and a pitching staff that compiled 337 strikeouts over 367.2 innings. Walz also played a role in the development of ace pitcher Maddi Duncan, who earned First-Team All-NSIC honors, three NSIC Pitcher of the Week selections, and recognition on the NFCA Division II Pitcher of the Year Watch List.

As a volunteer assistant, Walz continues to provide valuable mentorship and support to Cougar student-athletes while helping foster a culture of competitiveness, accountability, and academic excellence.
