Madie Brink is in her fourth year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications and her third year as the Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID) at the University of Sioux Falls. With a rich background in softball and collegiate athletics, Brink brings leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to inclusion to her multifaceted role. During the 2024-25 season, Brink took on the role as the head coach for the USF Softball Team.
During the 2024-25 season, the Cougars went 21-29 overall with a conference record of 9-19. Athletes Savanna Isaacson and Maddi Duncan both earned NSIC All-Conference honors while Isaacson also earned NSIC Freshman of the Year. In the classroom, the Cougars saw four student-athletes named to the NSIC All-Academic Team with two being named All-Academic Team of Excellence.Â
As a former assistant softball coach at USF, Brink helped produce four NSIC All-Conference athletes and one NFCA All-Region athlete, while overseeing hitting and outfield development. She helped lead the Cougars to a program best batting average of .312 while setting programs records with 95 doubles and a .941 stolen base percentage. Beyond coaching, she enhances the USF Athletic Department's image and brand, manages student and administrative personnel, assists with strategic planning, coordinates game-day operations, and promotes diverse and inclusive practices across Cougar Athletics.
A native of Pierre, South Dakota, Brink brings over six years of collegiate athletic experience to USF. As a standout student-athlete at Presentation College, she transitioned into coaching as the assistant softball coach and served as the college's student Sports Information Director, graduating with honors in 2020 with a B.S. in Sport & Event Management and a minor in Coaching.
In 2022, Brink earned an M.Ed. in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington, gaining invaluable experience as a graduate assistant with Husky Softball under legendary coach Heather Tarr. She also served as an Olympic sports operations graduate assistant for the UW Track & Field team. That same year, she returned to South Dakota to work as the Game-Day Communications Coordinator for the Pierre Trappers, a collegiate wood bat league baseball team.
Brink’s diverse experiences and passion for athletic excellence and equity make her a key leader within the USF Athletic Department.
Brink and her wife, Lenessa, reside in Sioux Falls with their three dogs Bella, Griffin and Bentley.
