Career
One of the most accomplished point guards in recent program history, Ayla Brown has started all 86 games of her collegiate career for the Cougars, totaling 2,952 minutes while averaging 34.3 minutes per contest. A steady floor general and two-way leader, Brown has scored 790 career points while shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from three-point range. She has also compiled 357 rebounds, 361 assists, 131 steals, and five blocks, establishing herself as one of the top all-around guards in the NSIC.
2025-26 (Junior)
Brown continued her strong collegiate career by starting all 29 games for the Cougars, averaging a team-high 37.1 minutes per contest while serving as the engine of the offense. She averaged 8.8 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game while totaling 157 assists and 55 steals—both team-leading marks.
Her playmaking ability remained among the best in the conference, highlighted by a career-high 11 assists in the road rivalry win at Augustana. Brown also recorded multiple near double-doubles throughout the season, including a nine-assist, 14-point effort against Minnesota Crookston and a 16-point outing against MSU Moorhead. Defensively, she remained a disruptive force, posting four steals at Minnesota State and continuing to pressure opposing guards throughout the season.
For her efforts, Brown earned Dave & Buster’s USF Athlete of the Week honors.
2024-25 (Sophomore)
Brown had a standout sophomore season, earning All-NSIC Second Team honors. She was also named to the NSIC Shining 5 after averaging 16.0 points, 8.0 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in wins over Augustana and Minnesota Crookston. Brown started 30 of 31 games, averaging 32.3 minutes per contest while scoring 9.1 points per game on 43.7 percent shooting, including 44.3 percent from beyond the arc. She also shot 87.3 percent from the free-throw line, totaled 106 rebounds, recorded 126 assists, and led the team with 46 steals. Brown was additionally named CSC Academic All-District.
2023-24 (Freshman)
Brown made an immediate impact as a freshman, starting all 27 games while averaging 33.7 minutes per contest. She scored 261 points (9.7 per game), added 119 rebounds, 78 assists, and 30 steals, while earning USF Athlete of the Week honors during the season.
High School
Brown competed in both basketball and tennis for the Bulldogs, earning four varsity letters. She also played club basketball for the Minnesota Comets, developing into one of the top prep guards in the region.

Ayla is the daughter of Gregg and Katrina Brown and has two siblings, Sawyer and Tess.
