    Volunteer Assistant Coach

Taylor Possail enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball program in 2026-27.

Possail brings extensive coaching experience to the Cougar staff following a highly successful run at Columbia College (Mo.), where he compiled a 123-31 overall record in five seasons as head coach. Under his leadership, the Cougars made five consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances, reached the program's first-ever No. 1 national ranking, and earned the school's first No. 1 seed in the national tournament.

During his tenure, Possail coached eight NAIA All-Americans, 21 All-Conference selections, 46 AMC Academic All-Conference honorees, and 11 NAIA Scholar-Athletes. He was named the WBCA Region 3 NAIA Coach of the Year and was a finalist for WBCA NAIA Coach of the Year honors in 2018-19.

Prior to becoming head coach at Columbia, Possail spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Cougars and was named the WBCA NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2016-17 season. He also spent time as the head girls basketball coach at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton High School in Minnesota.

A native of Tyler, Minnesota, Possail earned his degree in Business Education from Winona State University in 2012 and received his Master of Arts in Teaching from Columbia College in 2015. He resides in Sioux Falls with his wife, Nicole, and their son, Beckett and daughter Sadie.
