High School
Hayward graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming, where she competed in soccer, indoor track, and basketball. She was a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. A four-year varsity starter in soccer, she earned 4A First Team All-State and All-Conference honors as a junior, was named the 4A West Conference Midfielder of the Year, led the state in assists, and led her state runner-up team in points. As a sophomore, she led her state championship team in assists.

She also competed for Cheyenne Sting Elite and participated in Wyoming ODP.

Personal
She is the daughter of Marci Stirling Hayward and Justin Hayward and has two siblings, Lauren and Aven. She plans to major in Nursing with aspirations of pursuing graduate studies in a health science field. She volunteers with the Arc of Natrona County and enjoys playing pickleball and spikeball, working out, spending time with friends, napping, and watching shows.
