Biography

 

2013 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 28 games and 82 sets…averaged 0.48 kills, 1.04 digs and 0.07 blocks per set…totaled 39 kills, 85 digs and six blocks on the season…also handed out 13 assists for a 0.16 per set average…hit a career-best .800 (4-0-5) in a sweep over the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (9/13)…notched six terminations and two blocks in back-to-back wins versus Virginia State (9/7) and Barton (9/7)…registered five kills and 11 digs in the Cougars’ road sweep of Dakota State (10/29)…tallied five or more digs in seven matches...2013 NSIC All-Academic honoree.

2012 (FRESHMAN): Played in all 30 matches and finished with 135 kills, 202 digs and a .123 hitting clip…In her debut against Mayville State (8/31), posted six kills and 11 digs…had five kills without an error and six digs with a blocking assist and an ace against Dakota Wesleyan (9/1)…hit .467 with nine kills on 15 swings versus the same DWU Tigers on 9/5...recorded her first double-double in the Cougars’ 3-1 loss to Winona State (10/5)…finishing with 11 kills and 11 digs…followed that with her second double-dip a week later at Minnesota-Crookston (10/12)…racking up 11 kills and 12 digs...had 11 kills, eight digs and two aces in USF’s sweep of Dakota State (10/23)…dug out a season-high 13 balls twice; versus Oklahoma City (9/7) and the University of Mary (10/20)…notched a season-best .500 attack percentage three times; at Dakota Wesleyan (9/1, versus Harris Stowe (9/7) and Minot State (10/19)...averaged 1.36 kills, 0.53 assists and 2.04 digs per set. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport star for the Black Panthers...three time all-SCC selection in volleyball (outside hitter) and basketball (point guard), member of the 2010-11 Class A first team all-state and 2009-10 Class A honorable mention all-state squads...owns school records for kills in a season (449) and digs in a season (361)....was part of two state tournament teams for the Black Panthers (2009, 2010)...will rejoin former PG teammate Emily Johnson on the Cougars' roster...currently plays for the DAK90 Volleyball Club out of Mitchell. Also very active in competitive cheer and dance...member of Platte-Geddes squad that took first place in pom (2011), first place in cheer and pom (2009) and first place in hip hop at the South Dakota state competitive dance competition. Four year member of the Roll of Excellence (All A's)...served as National Honor Society secretary...involved in several community projects including volunteering at a nursing home, teaching youth to be more active & healthy, serving at spaghetti suppers and raising money for Kiva.com, a non-profit that helps people in other countries pay off loans...member of the praise team at the First Reformed Church.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Lance and Aimee Griese...has an older brother (Russell) and sister (Hilairee)...academic major is undeclared...enjoys photography and video editing.

Why Kellee chose USF: "It seemed like a phenomenal school for me to grow spiritually, academically and athletically; USF had a great atmosphere when I visited and I have a few friends there that love it, and I'm excited for the coming year."
