The University of Sioux Falls men's golf team was in competition the last two days at the Jackrabbit Fall Invitational, which was hosted by South Dakota State University at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls.

USF recorded a team score of 941 (297-313-331, +101) to take eighth place in the eight-team field that consisted of Augustana College and six NCAA Division I schools. 

The Cougars' top finisher was senior and Washington product Levi Smith, who shot an 82 today for a three-round score of 230 (70-78-82, +20). Smith finished in a tie for 23rd place with Jacob Bermel of Northern Iowa and UND's Collin Lervick.

Senior Jordan Mueller was USF's next highest finisher, as he carded an 84 in the final round for a score of 235 (75-76-84, +25), to tie for 33rd place with teammate Andrew Nelson (75-79-81, +25) and two other players.

They were followed by freshman Nick Gottsleben, whose 84 today tied him for 40th overall (79-80-84=243, +33).

Freshman Jon Van't Hul withdrew from the final round with a wrist injury.

North Dakota State swept the top team and individual accolades at the event. The Bison fired a five-man score of 877 (+37) and were led by individual medalist Tim Devlin, who carded a two-over 212 for the tournament (74-68-70).

The Cougars will compete next week in the NSIC Fall Tournament, to be held at The Maddens in Brainerd, Minn.
