The University of Sioux Falls dropped a league match to Minnesota Crookston before a crowd of 300 Friday night at the Stewart Center.
The Cougars (13-8, 5-8 NSIC) dropped the first game 25-17 and made the second game even closer, 25-21. But the Cougars ran out of any momentum during the third game, allowing the Golden Eagles (12-9, 7-6) to leave with the sweep.
For the Golden Eagles, Brittany Looker had a match-high 18 kills and Morgan VanGerpen finished with 10 terminations. For USF, Samantha Lovell had eight kills while Emily Johnson and Michelle Ritland each had six. Jordan Calef had five kills and six blocks, while Alexa Reed had 25 assists and seven digs.
USF will host Bemidji State at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
