The USF women's soccer team wrapped up their final home match of the 2013 season with a 3-1 loss to Augustana College. The Vikings cruised after scoring two goals in the first 13 minutes of the match.
Augustana got on the board first when Kirsten Smith scored off of a Maren Werth pass in the 5th minute of action.
The Vikings scored again when Aleisha Oehlerking shot the ball from 20-yards out and put it over the head of USF goalkeeper Corrin Cook.
The Vikings scored their final goal of the first period when Mackenzie Trom put a clearance ball past USF's defense and into the goal. Jessica Madson was credited with the assist on the goal, giving the Vikings a 3-0 lead heading into the half.
The Cougars kept fighting as they scored their only goal of the night in the 82nd minute when Irene Samaniego made a pass to Ciara Howerton who snuck it past the Vikings goalkeeper.
USF ended the match with nine shots compared to the nineteen that were given up to the Vikings.
Maria Gonzalez ended the match with three shots and two shots on goal for USF.
USF goalkeeper Corrin Cook recorded three saves in 90 minutes of action for the Cougars.
The Cougars will wrap up the regular season this Sunday when they travel to Wayne, Neb. to take on the Wayne State Wildcats. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
