The University of Sioux Falls soccer team fell to 0-2 on the season after a 0-3 loss to non-conference foe Fort Hays State (1-1). Fort Hays would build a 2-0 lead going into the half and would add one more goal in the second half.
The Tigers first goal came in the 21st minute of the game when Jamie Babyak put the ball over the top of the Cougar defense on a free kick and teammate Sabrina Van Horn finished with a goal over the head of USF's Corrin Cook.
The second goal for Fort Hays State would come in the 40th minute of the match when Jordan Hester beat her defender and put the ball in the back of the net.
The Tigers would add an insurance goal in the second half when Abby Cinotto got the ball past Cook on a crossing pass from Amanda Talbott.
The Cougars were unable to match the offensive firepower of the Tigers being outshot 12-4 in the match.
USF senior Corrin Cook recorded six saves for the Cougars which brings her season total to ten saves.
The Cougars will come back home for their next match where they will face NSIC opponent Southwest Minnesota State on Wednesday, September 11. The start time is set for 6 p.m.
