SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls Athletics Department hosted its annual Media Day for the Football, Volleyball and Soccer programs on Wednesday, August 16 at the Suite Level of Bob Young Field at the USF Sports Complex. For the first time, USF fans and supporters and the general public had the opportunity to view the press conference live through USF's Stretch Internet Portal. Members of the media from the Argus Leader, KELO-TV, KDLT-TV, KWSN Radio and others, along with alumni and supporters of USF attended the presser, which lasted about 25 minutes.

Brittany Domino outlined the strengths and goals of their respective programs. In addition, a student-athlete from each of the programs talked about their impressions on the start of fall camp and expectations for the season. Those student-athletes included USF Football's

The USF Football Team, which has been ranked #17 in the AFCA DII Preseason Poll, is the defending NSIC champions. A year ago, USF was 12-1, including 11-0 in the NSIC, and reached the "Sweet 16" in the NCAA DII Tournament. USF, which returns 10 starters and 34 letter winners, opened fall practice on August 10 and has gone through seven practices with another set for Thursday morning at 8 a.m. The Cougars will face #10 Minnesota Duluth in their opener on the road in Duluth, Minn., ,on Thursday, August 31 at 6:05 p.m.

The USF Volleyball Team, which opened practice on Monday, August 14, returns five starters and eight letterwinners from last year's squad, which posted a 19-10 record, 13-7 in the NSIC. They were picked to finish seventh in the NSIC. The Volleyball Team has 14 student-athletes in fall camp and features a mix of veterans with newcomers in preparing for the start of the season. USF opens the season by hosting the Country Inn and Suites Invitation on Sept. 1-2 at the Stewart Center. They will play four matches in the tourney.
With a 3-10-2 record and program-best 11 points in league play, USF Soccer finished 14th in the NSIC last season and were picked 13th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll. Following Media Day, the USF Soccer Team, which returns the core of its squad and added nine newcomers, practiced as they prepare for their opener on Sept. 1 against Colorado College at 5 p.m. at the USF Soccer Complex. The Soccer Team opened practice on August 15.
