BURNSVILLE, Minn. – After averaging 35.5 points, recording a double double and hitting a game-winning shot, University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball junior guard
Trevon Evans has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division Player of the Week, according to an announcement today by the league office.

Evans, a 6-0, 175-pound senior guard from Wichita, Kan., earned his second NSIC South Division Player of the Week honor as he was also honored Nov. 13. In total, USF has had four total NSIC South Division Players of the Week as
Drew Guebert has also been honored twice (Nov. 27, Jan. 8).
In leading USF to a 1-1 record last weekend, Evans, a criminal justice major, averaged 35.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and six three-pointers per game.
In a 97-76 loss to #12 Northern State on the road, Evans recorded a career-high and USF D2 record 42 points, established career-highs in made field goals with 15 (24 attempts) and three-pointers with seven (10 attempts). The 15 field goals tied the NSIC's season-high and his seven treys was the fourth-best total in the league this year. He became just the third player in the NSIC this season with over 40 points as his 42 points ranks second to Harrison Cleary of Minnesota Crookston, who had 46, also on Friday in a loss at Minnesota State.
On Saturday in Moorhead, Minn, he hit the
game-winning field goal with less than a second to play as the Cougars took a dramatic 70-67 victory over MSU Moorhead. Besides the game-winner, he recorded his second double double of the season (Fort Hays State, 31 points, 12 rebounds, Nov. 11, 2017) with 29 points and 10 rebounds while also dishing five assists. Evans, who now has two double doubles (Fort Hays, Nov. 11, 2017), was 5-of-12 from three-point range and 10-of 22 from the floor.
In the two games, Evans, who ranks third in the NSIC in scoring at 21.5 points per game, was 12-of-22 for 54.5 percent from three-point range, 25-of-46 for 54.3 percent from the field; and 9-of-13 at the foul line. In addition, he scored 48.6 percent (71-of-146) of USF's points in the two games, and accounted overall for 55.4 percent (81-of-146) of team's points.
With two more 20-point outings (42, 29), Evans has a team-high 12 this season. He also has 10, 20-point or better games in last 15 games played, including six over 25 points. In his last six games, Evans is averaging 24.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals and has hit 50.5 percent from the floor. He also has 20 three-point baskets.
Evans and the USF Men's Basketball Team will play four of its final six league games at home, beginning with University of Mary on Friday, Feb. 2 and Minot State on Saturday, Feb. 3.
