SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Sioux Falls standout Creighton Morisch has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year, highlighting an incredible season in which he also earned NSIC First Team All-Conference honors. The dominant forward played a pivotal role for the Cougars, showcasing his two-way excellence throughout the 2024-25 season. Morisch's impact on the defensive end was undeniable. He anchored USF's interior presence, leading the Cougars with 48 blocks while averaging 10.9 rebounds per game—both among the top marks in the conference. His defensive tenacity also translated into 22 steals, proving his ability to disrupt opponents at every level.
In addition to his defensive prowess, Morisch was a force on the offensive end, averaging 14.1 points per game while shooting an efficient 51.9% from the field. He posted 14 double-doubles on the season and recorded several standout performances, including a career-high 24 points at Augustana on February 11 and a dominant 20-rebound, 10-assist effort at Concordia-St. Paul on February 6.
His stellar play throughout the season did not go unnoticed, as Morisch was named to the NSIC Shining 5 Team six times and earned NSIC Player of the Week honors twice.
Morisch's ability to dominate on both ends of the floor has solidified him as one of the premier players in the NSIC. His leadership and production were instrumental in USF's success this season, and his accolades further highlight the impact he has had on the program.
