Box Score DULUTH, Minn. – Despite singles wins from
Chloe Jefferies and
Lexi Miller, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Tennis Team had a two-match winning streak end in a 6-3 setback to Minnesota-Duluth on Sunday.
The Cougars end the season with an 11-6 record, including 7-4 in the NSIC. The seven league wins ties the 2015 and 2016 teams for the best mark in the NCAA DII era. USF, Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth all finished at 7-4 and tied for fourth place. USF has defeated BSU, 5-4; UMD lost to Bemidji State, 7-2, and the Cougars fell to UMD, 6-3. Each winning team won on their home court.
Against UMD, USF lost at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and 4-2 in singles.

Chloe Jefferies completed a dominating season in which she finished 14-3 overall and 10-1 in NSIC matches. This weekend, she won straight set victories against both SCSU and UMD. After a 6-1, 6-3 win over Shelby Benofske, Jefferies has won 48-of-54 games. Jefferies and
Joelle Thorfinnson also took a victory over UMD, 8-4, at No. 1 singles to improve to 3-3 on the season.
Lexi Miller moved to 9-8 overall and 7-4 in league play with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 decision over Elsa Erickson of UMD at No. 3 singles.
"We lost a couple of close singles matches which proved to be the difference," said USF head coach
Kevin Grebin. "We will look to bounce back at the conference tournament in two weeks," added Grebin, whose team has clinched a berth in the NSIC Postseason Tournament for the third time in four years..
