USF Swimming Team earns highest ranking ever at No. 14 in CSCAA/TYR Top-25 Preseason Dual Meet Poll

SIOUX FALLS -- The University of Sioux Falls Swimming Team has been ranked No. 14 and earned its highest ranking in school history in the CSCAA/TYR Top 25 Division II Preseason Poll, which was released Wednesday (Oct. 16). In addition, USF is the highest ranked program from the NSIC.
 
Queens University of Charlotte was voted No. 1 followed by UC San Diego at No. 2 and Drury at No. 3 with 164 points. With 76 ballot points, USF was just behind Grand Valley State (Mich.) which had 87 ballot points. USF's previous high ranking of No. 18 occurred on Nov. 14, 2018.
 
USF, which is directed by second-year head coach Chris Hamstra, has opened the season with significant success, including a 3-0 dual mark at the U-Mary Quad Dual when they won 18 events, including 13 individual mark. Then at the Midwest Shootout in Omaha, the Cougars won eight of 12 events in a meet unscored for team points.
 
The poll measures the top teams in head-to-head competition. The rankings are voted on by CSCAA-member coaches and the next poll will be Nov. 11.
