Box Score BISMARCK, N.D. – In the season opener, the University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (0-1, 0-1 NSIC) dropped a 7-0 decision to Minnesota State Moorhead (2-0, 1-0 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars had some solid performances but lost crucial points and with it all six singles matches and three doubles matches. The double matches only account for one total point in team scoring. USF had a solid effort from No. 1
Chloe Jefferies who won the opening set but lost in a tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 to Julia Geske of MSUM. USF also lost close matches at No. 2 doubles, 7-5, and No. 3 doubles, 6-4.
"I thought we played really hard and had a lot of good points but just lost the crucial points," said USF Head Coach
Kevin Grebin, whose team will face U-Mary on Sunday in Bismarck, N.D. "We will rebound and get after it tomorrow," he said.
