DENVER, COLO – The University of Sioux Falls Baseball Team (1-3) dropped a nonconference contest to Metro State (3-9) on Friday afternoon at the Regency Athletic Complex.
The Cougars were able to generate just two hits on five MSU pitchers. The Cougars had a run-scoring hit from
Zane Butts and also a base hit by Jacob Binsfield.
The Roadrunners opened the scoring with two runs in the second and added single runs in the third and fourth innings and then plated two in the fifth for a 6-0 lead.
Then, they added a run in the sixth inning with four more in the seventh frame and one in the eighth inning as they managed 12 on 15 hits against seven USF pitchers.
Matt Graham (0-1) took the loss for the Cougars. He allowed seven hits and four runs across 3 2/3 innings.

Metro State had four hits and three RBI from Zach Walsh while five others collected two hits.
USF and Metro State will play on Saturday at 1 pm (CST) at Regency Athletic Complex.
