USF Swimming Team ranked No. 16 in latest CSCAA/TYR National Poll

SIOUX FALLS -- The University of Sioux Falls Swimming Team (8-0) is ranked No. 16 in the CSCAA/TYR Top 25 Division II Poll, which was released Thursday (Feb. 6).  

UC-San Diego was voted No. 1 with 148 points followed by Queens University at No. 2 with 144 points and Drury at No. 3 at 138. USF received 60 and was ranked No. 16. USF, which has been idle since a 128-73 home dual win against Northern State on Jan. 11, has been ranked the entire season with a No. 13 ranking on Jan. 13. They had a program-best No. 11 on Nov. 14. USF's previous rankings include No. 14 on Oct. 15, 2019 and No. 18 on Nov. 14, 2018. 

USF, which is directed by second-year head coach Chris Hamstra, has had a remarkable season and completed the regular season unbeaten in dual competition. For the first time in school history, USF has put together an unbeaten dual record at 8-0 following a 128-73 home victory over Northern State on Jan. 11. The Cougars will compete at the NSIC Championships in Bismarck, N.D., on Feb. 12-15. USF has nine individuals ranked in the nation's top 25 along with five relays ranked in the top 12 which include three (200 free, 10th; 800 free, 10th; and 200 medley, 8th) ranked in the nation's top 10. Five USF individuals are ranked in the top-10 in individual events.

The poll measures the top teams in head-to-head competition. The rankings are voted on by CSCAA-member coaches with the next poll set for release on March 2.
