SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls women's soccer team played to a double overtime draw 0-0 on Friday night against Northern State. The first half was a closely contested match and remained scoreless with a lot of back and forth action in the first 45 minutes of play.
As the second half got underway, the game saw a lot of nice defensive stops and change of possessions making it hard to capitalize on any connected passes. The Wolves ended up having six shots in the 2
nd half of the match and the Cougars ended with four, none of which for either team found the back of the net.
The Cougars ended with four shots on the day by
Kassidy Graber,
Bailey Kehrli, and
Lauren Johnson. On the defensive side of the ball, it was another stellar performance by the goalkeeping trio where tonight it was
Alexis Wemhoff's turn in the net. Alexis faced 10 shots on Friday night, saving all of them and improving the save percentage to .876 on the season.
The Cougars are 1-8-3, 1-5-3 on the season and will look to build on their shutout performance and look to find ways to put shots into the back of the net when they meet MSU-Moorhead on Senior Day, Sunday Oct 17 at 1 p.m.
