Inte Pas, USF Swimming
BURNSVILLE, MINN. –
Inte Pas of the University of Sioux Falls Swimming Team, who recorded the fourth fastest 100 breaststroke time in NCAA DII this season in competition on Oct. 23, has earned her career- first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Swimmer of the Week honor, according to an announcement today by the league office.
Pas, a freshman exercise science major from Nieuwerkerk aan den IJ, Netherlands, helped the Cougars to a 1-1 record with four event wins in duals versus the University of Jamestown and Minnesota State in Mankato, Minn. Pas improved her already highly ranked time in the 100-yard breaststroke as she finished with a time of 1:04.50. Pas was just a half second from the NCAA B standard and ranks fourth nationally at 1:04.08.
Besides her standout individual performance, she was also part of the winning USF 400-yard relay, which set a pool record of 3:58.52. Pas was joined on the winning team by
Paulina Ruelas,
Domenica Solano and
Ursula Demarquet.
At the same competition, Pas captures titles in the 200 breast in 2:23.63 and the 200 IM in 2:14.05. This season, the freshman standout already has eight event wins (individual or relay).
Next up - Pas and her USF Swimming teammates will face Northern State at the Midco Aquatic Center at 1 pm on Saturday, Oct. 30.
