SIOUX FALLS – In the 10th match of the season, the Sioux Falls Soccer Team (1-8-1) fell to Augustana (5-3-2), 4-0, on Friday night before 453 people in attendance under the lights at the USF Sports Complex.
The Vikings got off to quick start, scoring two goals in the first seven minutes of the match. They put the pressure on early and were able to tack on another goal at the 15' mark to go up, 3-0, at the half. The goals were scored by Josie Arduser and Carlie Kray with assists by Morgan Keirstead and Sylvia Fehr for the Vikings in the first 45 minutes of the match. Augustana built a 4-0 lead when Sylvia Fehr scored in the 60
th minute.
The Cougars had four shots on the day by
Kassidy Graber (2) and
Aundria Vargas and
Grace Held each had one a piece. On the defensive end,
Caroline Titze played all 90 minutes, had some nice saves throughout the match, and ended with 14 saves on the night.
The Cougars will be back in action this upcoming Sunday, Oct. 10 when they host Wayne State at 1 p.m.
