WEST FARGO, N.D. -- The University of Sioux Falls Swimming Squad has opened the 2021 NSIC Championships with solid performances in three individual events with five student-athletes advancing to the A Final at the Hulbert Aquatic Center.. In the 200 IM, All-American junior
Elizabeth Spaans clocked a 2:07.39 to register the fastest qualifying time. Ranked number one coming into the meet, Spaans actually clocked nearly two seconds faster than her prelim time. Freshman
Paulina Ruelas was third overall in the 200 IM prelims at 2:08.39 or just under five seconds faster than her prelim seed time.
Senior All-American
Jenna Krahn clocked the top 50 free time in the prelims. She had a time of 23.81 which is .11 faster than her seed time. Sophomore
Ursula Demarquet was fourth overall at 24.16 or .61 better than her seed time.
In the 1,000 free,
Abigail Ford advanced to finals with the fifth best time at 10:59.40 which is 17 seconds faster than her seed time.
Alex Sanchez-Clark was 12th at 11:29.52 which is 10 seconds better than her seed time. USF is ranked second in the 200 medley relay (1:48.81) coming into the meet.
