BURNSVILLE, MINN. -- Senior
Brenden Bassing of the University of Sioux Falls Men's Golf Team has earned his first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golfer of the Week honor, according to an announcement by the league office on Wednesday (March 10).

With a 15th place finish from Bassing, a senior from Sioux Falls (O'Gorman High School), S.D., the Cougars moved up three spots for a top-five finish at the Battle for the Belt in Hot Springs, Ark.
In a competition which concluded Tuesday (March 9), Bassing had a solid performance across three rounds, scoring (77-76-72) and lowered his score each round. He moved up from 22nd to 15th – a move of seven spots – after closing with an even par 72. He shot a three-round total of 225 (77-76-72) and finished nine-over par. He was 17th in pars with 30 and also was 14th in birdies with nine. In par four scoring, Bassing was sixth with a four-over par.
In the first meet of the season at the Natural State Golf Classic, he was tied for 40th at 158 (78-80) as USF placed 8th.
A business administration major, Bassing is a three-time Academic All-NSIC selection.
Bassing and his teammates will compete at the Hillcat Classic at Bailey Ranch Golf Club in Owasso, Okla., on March 15-16.
