INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Sioux Falls Men's Golf Team, which has registered five straight top-five finishes this spring, has been ranked a program-best seventh in the third of three NCAA Men's Golf Regional rankings, which was released today by the NCAA Golf Committee.
USF is the highest
NSIC team ranked at No. 7 with Bemidji State, 10th. Both teams stayed in the same position in the rankings from week two.
The USF Men's Golf Team has had a tremendous spring with five straight top-five finishes against high quality competition. They won the
Hillcat Classic in
Owasso, Okla., on March 15-16 and was most recently fifth at "The Mule" with 23 teams and 119 players.
The winner of the
NSIC Men's Golf Championship, taking place April 16-18, will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Midwest/Central Region tournament. The Men's Golf Committee shall select eight teams (including automatic qualifiers) and three individuals not on those teams from each of the eight regions. Regional advisory committees shall assist in the evaluation of the teams and individuals. The NCAA Midwest/Central Regional will be played Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri hosted by William Jewell College and the Kansas City Sports Commission on May 6-8. One individual and four teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
The NCAA Championships will be played May 17-21 at the PGA National Resort, The Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with Palm Beach Atlantic University and Palm Beach County Sports Commission serving as hosts.
