Clayton Lavigne, who has experience in strength and conditioning at the NCAA DI level, has been named the assistant coach of strength and conditioning at the University of Sioux Falls, according to
Micah Cloward, USF Director of Strength and Conditioning.
A native of Star City, Ark., Lavigne has most recently served as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Troy University (Alabama) where he worked with the football program and sports science. He also has served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Wyoming and Mississippi State University.
"Clay comes to us highly recommended by all who have worked with him. He has a passion for coaching and teaching," said Cloward. "He has a great foundation of scientific and practically -based training, but is always looking to learn. His tireless work ethic and ability to connect with student-athletes will greatly benefit the University of Sioux Falls," added Cloward.
Lavigne, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Southern Arkansas University (May, 2019), is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and is CPR/AED certified. He is in the process of completing his Master's Degree in management leadership from Troy University. Additionally, he was a student assistant in strength and conditioning and also a student assistant coach at Southern Arkansas University.
