Maplewood, MN – The Golden Bear Classic came to a close today in Minnesota with the USF Women's Golf team taking 7th place. The shorthanded Cougars relied on multiple freshmen to lead the team including
Paige Hillman who recorded the best finish of her young career by taking 12
th place.
USF topped SMSU by six strokes and landed 17 strokes out of 6th place with their 102-over 678 (340-338). Rogers State University took home the team victory shooting 32-over par at 608 while Nebraska-Kearney (+42, 618) and Wayne State College (+76, 652) settled behind them in 2
nd and 3
rd respectively. Lydia Sitorus of Rogers State and Faviola Gonzalez of Nebraska-Kearney shot six-over par with 150 to tie for first place.

Hillman reeled in her highest collegiate finish by landing 12
th place after shooting eight-over with an 80 (39-41) that included a birdie on the 460-yard hole 10 and nine par makes. Her first round 80 (40-40) helped her finish with a 16-over par 160 while tallying two birdies and 18 pars.
Savannah Vincent also played to an eight-over score of 80 (37-43) on the day with her outing made up of nine pars and a birdie on the 288-yard hole 1. With her first round 89 (41-48) Vincent finished 25-over at 169 and placed T29th. In total she recorded 15 pars and a birdie in her second collegiate tournament.
Ashley Tackett added a round of 88 (45-43) to her first round 83 (39-44) which set her at a 27-over 171 that was good for 34
th in the event. The seven pars she sank in the second round gave her a total of 17 in the tournament.
Maddi Hanson finished T46th with a 34-over 178 made up of a first round 88 (45-43) and second round 90 (42-48). She collected five pars in the 2
nd round for a total of 11 at the Golden Bear Classic.
