USF Swimming receives votes in the latest CSCAA DII Women's Top-25 poll

USF also has several individuals and teams ranked in top 50 individually and in relays

 SIOUX FALLS -- The University of Sioux Falls Swimming Team is receiving votes in the CSCAA Top 25 Division II Poll, which was released Thursday (Jan. 13).  

Queens University is ranked No. 1 with 150 points followed by Indianapolis at 144 and Drury at 138. USF received two votes in the poll and is listed in receiving votes category. Minnesota State is ranked No. 23 with 22 points and Augustana is No. 24 with 19 points while St. Cloud State is also receiving votes along with USF. 

USF, which is directed by fourth-year head coach Chris Hamstra, will compete in a dual meet with Augustana on Friday on Senior Night at the Midco Aquatic Center.

USF also has relays and individuals ranked nationally 
Aside from the national poll, the Cougars, which have placed third at the NSIC Championships in each of the past four years, has also several relays and individuals ranked in the top 50 nationally. USF has four relays ranked in the top-30 of the USA Swimming rankings, including the 400 medley (Ilinde du Plessis, Inte Pas, Emily Solarski, Valerie Childs) which is 17th with a 3:49.13.  USF is 23rd in the 400 free (Childs, Sarah Knox, du Plessis, Elizabeth Spaans) in 3:31.14; 27th in the 800 free (du Plessis, Knox, Spaans, Childs) and 30th in the 200 medley (Domenica Solano, Inte Pas, Childs and Ursula Demarquet).

Individually, USF has eight individuals in USA Swimming's top 50 rankings. Inte Pas is 15th in the 100 breast in 1:03.28 and 17th in the 200 breast in 2:18.33. In the 1650 free, Sarah Knox is 35th in 17:34.45; while duPlessis is 21st in the 50 back in 26.47. Spaans is 47th in 56.87 and du Plessis, 50th, in 57.02 in the 100 back while Sppans is also 36th in the 200 IM in 2:06.21. duPlessis is 43rd in the 200 back in 2:04.18.
