For the fourth straight year, USF Swimming named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

RICHMOND, VA - For the fourth straight year, the University of Sioux Falls Swimming Team has earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American honors for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

USF posted a GPA of 3.21 to earn the honor as the team continues to assert a standard of excellence in competition and in the classroom. In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the team honor. Those with a GPA of 3.3 or higher will now become eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

"I am very proud of this team for their hard work in the classroom and in the pool," said USF Head Swimming Coach Chris Hamstra, whose team will compete and host the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 9-12 at the Midco Aquatic Center.  "Being honored by the CSCAA as a Scholar All-American team is a tradition for USF swimming that our team works tirelessly to continue," he said.

Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted Sioux Falls's achievements noting: "Coach (Chris) Hamstra has built a model program - in the pool and the classroom. These 22 women are some of the best ambassadors that Sioux Falls and the Northern Sun could ask for."

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
