SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The University of Sioux Falls Head Tennis Coach
Kevin Grebin has announced the signing of Sydney Osburn of Henderson, Nev., who will continue her academic and athletic career at USF.
Osburn is the first to join USF's 2022-23 signing class.
"We want to welcome Sydney (Osburn) to our 2022-23 recruiting class," said Grebin. "I'm very excited to have her joining the program, as her tennis skills will contribute greatly to the success of our team," he said.
The daughter of Phil and Heidi Osburn, she was a tennis standout at Coronado High School. During her freshman and sophomore year, Osburn helped lead her team to two NIAA Class 4A Regional Championships, as well as a NIAA Class 4A State Championship (freshman year) and a NIAA 4A State second place finish (sophomore year). Also in her sophomore year, Osburn took the NIAA Class 4A State Doubles third place finish. After her junior season was canceled due to COVID-19, Osburn went on to place fourth in the NIAA Class 5A Regional Doubles her senior year, as well as fourth place in the NIAA Class 5A State Doubles. While at Coronado High School, Osburn was a member of the A, B Honor Roll and the National Charity League.
In 2021, the USF Tennis Team (7-6) advanced to the NSIC Tournament for the sixth time in seven years. The Cougars finished 7-4 in league play and earned the No. 6 seed in the league tourney.
