SIOUX FALLS – The USF volleyball team fell to (#9) Minnesota Duluth earlier today moving to 9-6 on the season and 5-3 in NSIC play.
USF vs UMD (18-25, 19-25, 22-25)
· Attack: USF put up 33 kills on the day led by standout freshmen, Courtney Holsteen and Sadie Voss with eight kills apiece.
· Service Line: Nicole Jacobson, Jordyn Hamm and Sadie Voss each had one ace on the day totaling three for the Cougars.
· Team Effort: Freshman setter, Elise Gillen paved the way for USF with 20 assists today followed by Davis Guetterman (7).
· Standing Tall: The Cougars tallied eight blocks today as Hamm led the way with six herself.
Overall
· The Cougars averaged a .190 attacking percentage on the evening with 33 kills, 39 digs and 59 points.
· USF sits 6th in the NSIC standings with 721 kills on the season and an attack percentage of .233.
· Sioux Falls has held their opponents to 619 kills on the season and a .182 attacking percentage
