SIOUX FALLS – The USF volleyball team fell to a tough Northern State squad one set to three tonight while the Cougars move to 11-8 on the season.
USF vs NSU (25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 19-25)
· Attack: Jordan Kuper led USF tonight with 13 kills followed by Courtney Holsteen (11) and Sadie Voss (11). The big three tallied for 35 of the Cougars 54 kills throughout the match off of 145 total attacks.
· Service Line: The Cougars served 10 aces on the night led by Jordyn Hamm (3), Elise Gillen (3) and Jordan Kuper (2) while holding the Wolves to just nine.
· Team Effort: Elise Gillen (28) and Davis Guetterman (16) accounted for 44 of USFs 50 assists while Nicole Jacobson absorbed 10 Northern State attacks.
· Standing Tall: USF out-blocked the Wolves 27-24 with Jordyn Hamm (9), Brooklynne Albrecht (5) and Jordan Kuper (5) putting down 19 blocks for the Cougars.
Overall
· The Cougars averaged a .179 attacking percentage on the night with 54 kills off of 145 attempts while holding the wolves to a .197.
· USF out will look to battle back as they host Minnesota State University – Moorhead tomorrow afternoon with first serve slated for 2:00pm in the Stewart Center.
