USF Soccer ends in a draw on Friday night

Sioux Falls, SD - USF Soccer ends in a draw by a score of 1-1 on Friday night at Bob Young Field.

The Cougars took on Minnesota-Crookston with a start time of 6 p.m. today. The first 45 minute of play saw a lot of back and forth action and the Cougars went into the half with a 0-0 score. USF's Caroline Titze faced five shots in the first half of the match, with two saves. The Cougars had six shots of their own in the first half of play.

As the 2nd half began to play out, the Cougars and Eagles exchanged possession and it wasn't until the 81st minute that the Eagles found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. USF answered the bell in the 88th minute when Lauren Johnson sent a ball in to Julia Kreutner, who used her left foot to put it in the back of the net to end the game in a 1-1 tie. USF faced six shots in the match, only seeing a single shot faced in the 2nd half of play. The Cougars ended the day with 17 shots, led by Julia Kreutner with four and Molly Coverley with three. The Cougars will look to build off the late goal scored tonight when they'll take on Bemidji State at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Bob Young Field.
