SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls women's basketball team fell to Fort Hays State in the final game of the Courtyard Tip-off Classic.
WHAT HAPPENED
· The Cougars opened the game strong going on a 6-0 run with points made by Brecli Honner, Dallie Hoskinson and Olivia Gamoke.
· Honner tallied a career high 15 points today going 7-10 from the field and 1-2 from three point territory. She also pulled down seven rebounds for the Cougars while dishing out two assists.
· Krystal Carlson was the second leading scorer for Sioux Falls picking up nine points on the day.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· Honner and Carlson along with Sidney Swanson and Madison Wuebben led the Cougars in points collecting 36 of USFs 50 points on the night.
· Gamoke, Carlson and Honner each picked off two steals from the Tigers.
· Honner also led Sioux Falls with two blocks against FHSU followed by Fannin, Carlson and Sanders each with one of their own.
· Honner (7), Carlson (3), Sanders (3) and Fannin (2) combined for 15 of USFs 25 rebounds on the day.
TEAM STATISTICS
· USF went 18-50 from the field, 6-20 from beyond the arch and 3-16 from the free throw line.
· Sioux Falls ends the weekend shooting .346 from the field, .270 from three point territory and .586 from the free throw line.
UP NEXT
Sioux Falls (0-2) is back home Tuesday evening to take Presentation College at 7:00 p.m. The Saints are coached by former USF assistant coach, Carley Jeffery.
