Sioux Falls, SD - The second day of the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championship concluded today with the University of Sioux Falls sitting in 4th place. The four-day Championship will resume tomorrow morning at 10am.
Minnesota State Mankato leads the conference championship at the halfway mark with a team score of 511.5. Second place St. Cloud State sits 76.5 points behind them. The rest of the field shakes out as follows; Augustana(374.5), Sioux Falls(251.5), Minnesota State Moorhead(131.5), U-Mary(102), Northern State(95), SMSU(67), Concordia St. Paul(37).
NCAA B Standards-
The Cougars added two more B standard times to their total during day 2, their total sits at three heading into the second half of the championship.
During the preliminaries, Ilinde du Plessis swam a career best in the 200 Free. Her time of 1:52.13 was also an NCAA B standard time. During the finals she finished in 1:53.14 to place 4th. The 200 Free final marked her 4th time as a finalist in the NSIC Championship.
In the 100 Butterfly final, Domenica Solano achieved an NCAA B standard time of 55.98. Ultimately she finished 5th while just 0.01 of a second out of 4th. This was her 3rd time as an NSIC finalist.
The Cougars best performance of the day came from their 400 Medley Relay A team as they took 2nd place in the final. USF's B team in the event also made its way onto the podium as they finished 8th overall.
