Sioux Falls, SD - Day 1 of the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championship concludes with USF sitting in 4th place. Day 2 will begin at 10am tomorrow Feb. 10th.
Day 1 of the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championship included finals for the 200 Medley Relay, 1000 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, and 200 Free Relay. Leading the standings after the first day is Minnesota State with 270.5 points. Behind them sits St. Cloud State in 2nd and Augustana in 3rd.
The Cougars received great performances from multiple swimmers with Elizabeth Spaans shining brightest. In the 200 IM Spaans took the title as she posted an NCAA B standard time of 2:03.41. Her time was a career best plus her 8th overall title (relay & individual), it also sits as the 3rd best time in the NSIC and t-16th in DII.
