SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With the recent inclement weather impacting field conditions, the mid-week doubleheader between U-Mary (11-18, 3-11 NSIC) and the University of Sioux Falls (17-16, 9-9 NSIC) has been moved to First National Bank Field in Brandon, S.D., and will be played on Tuesday, April 12. The two
NSIC teams will play a doubleheader at 11 am and 1 pm. With the site reversal, USF will host the games with U-Mary designated as the home team. It is the fourth straight "road" series that has been a site reversal and hosted by the Cougars.

NSIC wins) dropped three-of-four games against Metro State-Denver. USF went 3-4 in Florida over spring break, and 2-1 against Minnesota
Crookston as
NSIC play opened. They split a doubleheader with Minot State before winning 2-of-3 against Southwest Minn. State on March 26-27. With a series win over Bemidji State, USF is now 17-16 overall and 9-9 in the NSIC and eighth place.
Series Record
The Cougars leads the Marauders, 13-9 in the overall series but has lost seven straight including a doubleheader of 8-6 and 8-4 on April 3, 2021 in Bismarck, ND. The last USF win was a doubleheader sweep on April 19 in Watford City, ND, when USF was 7-2 and 6-2 decisions.
How Things Stand for USF Baseball
After 33 games, USF is ranking fourth in the
NSIC with a .286 average with 290 hits and 205 runs. The Cougars, which own a .393 slugging percentage and .374 OBP, have .398 total bases. USF has 61 stolen bases and a .958 fielding percentage. Noah
Christenson is second in the league in hitting at .395 with a team-high 47 hits, including seven doubles and two home runs.
Christenson, who leads USF with 30 RBI, had a .504 slugging percentage and a team-high .437 OBP with 10 steals. After going 5-of-11 for a .455 against Bemidji State, raised his average to .351. He has a .526 slugging mark and .388 OBP with three home runs and 21 RBI.
Tyler Cate is also over .300 at .333 with a .428 OBP and 10 stolen bases. Ben
Serie has also raised his average to .312 as he leads USF with six home runs and 22 RBI plus a team-best .541 slugging mark.
On the mound, USF has a .604 earned run average and totaled 227 strikeouts in 249 innings. Alex
Krout leads the
NSIC with six saves and has a 2.76 earned run average. Among starters, Caleb
Ditmarson leads USF with a 4-2 record and a 3.70 earned run average. He has a team-high 47 strikeouts.
