BURNSVILLE, MINN. – Senior
Jack Evans of the University of Sioux Falls Golf Team earned his first-ever Northern Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Tuesday (April 12) after carding a career-best, winning his first title and leading the Cougars to a team title at the Augustana Invite on Sunday (April 10).
Evans, who carded a program-best 135 (68-67), won his first-ever career tournament and helped the USF to its first team title of 2022 at the Augustana Invite, which concluded on Sunday, April 10 at the Elmwood Course in Sioux Falls.
A senior from Brainerd, Minn., Evans dominated the tournament by carding back-to-back rounds of 68 and 67 for a nine-under par 135 total, which was five shots better than Blake Schaper of SDSU. Both rounds were career bests and lows of the tournament both days on the Par 72 course.
Evans' total was 10 shots better than his previous two-round total of 145 in 2019 at the Watkins Invite. It was five shots better than the previous USF two-round total. He was part of a USF team that had a season-best 605 with rounds of 308 and 297 to win the tourney by one stroke over Dakota Wesleyan and four shots ahead of host Augustana at 609.

In his two rounds, Evans carded 11 birdies and 23 pars in his two rounds and only had two over par rounds in the tournament.
Evans and his USF teammates will compete in the NSIC Men's Golf Championship on April 14-16 at the Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo.
