Tennis ITA awards 2022

USF Tennis named an All-Academic Team for sixth time in seven years; five named Scholar-Athletes

Sioux Falls- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently announced its 2022 Division II ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams. The University of Sioux Falls Tennis team and five student-athletes were recognized.
 
The USF Tennis team received the All-Academic Team designation for the sixth time in seven years and fifth straight under Head Coach Kevin Grebin. To be eligible for the team award the program must have a team average GPA of 3.2 or better, all student-athletes included must be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
 
Five student-athletes also achieved Scholar-Athlete status: Emily Applegate, Brianna Holm, Katelyn Nesheim, Ella Schmidt, and Danielle Thorfinnson. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete one must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Since 2017 USF Tennis has had 38 student-athletes earn Scholar-Athlete recognition.
 
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2022, 715 Division II Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 110 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
