Cleveland, OH - The Division 2 Athletics Association recently announced the 2021-22 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards. 105 student-athletes from the University of Sioux Falls were recognized by the D2 ADA this year.

For the second year in a row the record for total number of award recipients was broken. This year, 16,639 student-athletes from 169 institutions were recognized which surpassed last year's mark by nearly 500. This is the 15th year the D2 ADA has recognized the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.

"Congratulations to all of the student-athlete recipients of the distinguished D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award," said Kim Pate, vice president for athletics at Lenoir-Rhyne University and current D2 ADA President. "It's been so impressive to see the number of student-athletes recognized for their stellar performance in the classroom grow to record numbers year to year since the inception of this award. This a reflection our member institution's commitment to ensuring special recognition of the academic success of so many well-deserving student-athletes."

In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, a student-athlete must have:
-AÂ cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
-Attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level workÂ
-Been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic yearÂ
