Prairie du Sac, Wis. – University of Sioux Falls Football student-athlete Blake Stahl has been named one of three finalists for the inaugural Mueller Sports Medicine REVIVE Award™, an honor recognizing collegiate student-athletes who have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, character and heart in overcoming adversity.
A redshirt junior tight end from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Stahl's journey to becoming a national finalist extends far beyond the football field. Following the sudden loss of both of his parents in a fatal car accident, Stahl stepped away from football and returned home to support his family. He assumed responsibilities no college student should face, helping arrange funeral services, supporting his younger brother and navigating unimaginable grief.
Despite the challenges, Stahl made the decision to return to Sioux Falls and continue pursuing his degree and football career. Leaning on the support of his coaches, professors and teammates, he rebuilt his routine and found purpose through service and leadership.
Since returning to campus, Stahl has become deeply involved in community outreach efforts, volunteering with organizations including the Special Olympics and working with youth in local schools. His journey has evolved into a mission of honoring his parents through service, leadership and a desire to help others facing adversity.
"Blake exemplifies everything that it means to be a Cougar," said University of Sioux Falls Head Football Coach Jim Glogowski. "His strength, selflessness and ability to persevere through unimaginable circumstances have impacted everyone in our program. We're incredibly proud to see him recognized on a national stage."
The REVIVE Award™, launched by Mueller Sports Medicine in 2026, celebrates student-athletes who embody three core qualities: resilience, character and heart. Inspired by the company's REVIVE™ line of recovery products, the award honors athletes whose comeback stories inspire others to overcome life's challenges.
Stahl was selected as one of three finalists from a nationwide pool of applicants alongside volleyball student-athlete Britani Stone of Snow College and wrestler Samuel Bruss of the University of Mary.
The winner of the inaugural REVIVE Award™ will receive a $10,000 NIL deal and global recognition for their achievements. The recipient's institution will also receive a Mueller REVIVE™ Recovery Room featuring recovery equipment and products. All three finalists will receive an M4 REVIVE™ Gear Pack designed to support athletic recovery and performance.
