USF Volleyball Outlasts The Mavericks In 5

MANKATO – USF volleyball came away with a win over MSU-Mankato today to improve to 7-4 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

1st Set

·       USF outscored MSU 25-22 with 17 kills led by Jordan Kuper and Grace Hanel

·       Sioux Falls maintained a .293 attack percentage while holding Mankato to just a .196

2nd Set

·       The Cougars landed 3 aces and 8 kills on the Mavericks

·       USF fell 19-25

3rd Set

·       Sioux Falls came back with vengeance as they outscored Mankato 25-14

·       USF put up a .417 attacking percentage with only 1 error on the set

·       Kuper, Hanel and Holsteen helped paved the way as the Cougars tallies 16 kills

·       The Cougars outscored the Mavericks 25-14

4th Set

·       The Cougars put up 48 attack attempts on the Mavericks in set 4

·       USF landed 15 kills, but fell 21-25 to send the match to 5 sets

5th Set

·       Sioux Falls held Mankato to a .107 attacking percentage

·       The Cougars landed another 10 kills in set five

·       USF came away with an 15-12 win on a kill from Grace Hanel assisted by Davis Guetterman from an overturned challenge ruled in favor of the Coo

Overall

·       USF outscored MSU 105-98 in 5 sets

·       Courtney Holsteen, Grace Hanel and Jordan Kuper tallied 46 of USFs 66 kills

·       Sioux Falls put up 14 total blocks over Mankato

·       The Cougars held Mankato to an overall .200 attacking percentage

·       Jordan Kuper tallied a .333 attacking percentage with 14 kills on the day

·       Courtney Holsteen earned herself 17 kills off of 36 attacks

·       Elise Gillen put up 37 assists followed by Davis Guettermans 21 assists

·       Sadie Voss recorded 24 digs on the day

·       The Cougars advance to 7-4 on the year with a 3-1 NSIC record
